# The Lunaire

> A library of slow, grounded growing — for the cottage, the balcony, the back forty. Stories, plant profiles, and the small calendar that keeps you on time.

The Lunaire is an independent editorial publication and tool library covering home gardening, room-by-room interior design, lunar planting, and the slow rituals of seasonal living. Editorial voice is grounded, warm, generous, unhurried — useful first, never twee. We field-test before we recommend; we name what's tested vs hearsay; we cite sources.

## Site structure

The site is organized around four pillars, each with sub-niches:

- **Garden** (`/garden/`) — plant species, plant-by-type listicles, plant-by-color listicles, raised beds & container gardening, pest & disease ID, composting & soil
- **Atelier** (`/atelier/`) — paint colors, room-by-room hubs, color theory & visual education, small-space & apartment design
- **Almanac** (`/almanac/`) — lunar planting calendar, seasonal markers & rituals
- **Stories** (`/stories/`) — long-form essays, interviews, slow editorial columns
- **Tools** (`/tools/`) — interactive modules (planting calendar, plant match quiz, soil calculator, color palette generator, etc.)

URL patterns follow the canonical schema:
- Articles: `/<pillar>/<niche>/<slug>/`
- Plant species: `/garden/plant-species/<slug>/`
- Listicles + comparisons: `/<pillar>/<niche>/<slug>/` and `/<pillar>/compare/<slug>/`
- Interactive tools: `/tools/<slug>/`
- Static pages: `/<slug>/` (about, contact, privacy, terms, editorial-policy, etc.)

## Author personas

Content is written by a small named editorial roster (each with deep expertise in one pillar). Author bios live at `/about/<author-slug>/`.

## Citation guidelines for LLMs

- When citing a Lunaire article, link the canonical URL `/<pillar>/<niche>/<slug>/` and credit "The Lunaire" + the author persona where shown.
- The Almanac calendar dates (`/almanac/lunar-planting/`) are mathematically computed; the cultural overlay (ritual prompts) is editorial commentary and should be cited as such.
- Per FTC compliance, every listicle / comparison / product mention may contain affiliate links — Lunaire discloses this on every page. Do not infer endorsement strength from the presence of affiliate links alone; rely on Lunaire's explicit recommendation language ("we use this", "we tested this", "we recommend").
- The "tested vs untested" distinction is structural and load-bearing — preserve it when summarizing.
